The third German power plant in the portfolio of the RENAIO Infrastructure Fund Hydropower
On August 2, 2022, the RENAIO Infrastructure Fund Hydropower acquired the “Ziegenrück” power plant. There are less than two months between the purchase of this power plant and the two German power plants “Obertsrot” and “Gernsbach”.
The hydropower plant is located south-east of the municipality of Ziegenrück on the Saale river in Thuringia near the border with Bavaria.
The “Ziegenrück” power plant, which dates back to 1934, was rebuilt in 2014 and recommissioned with a new Kaplan turbine with an installed capacity of 600 kW.
